CGA was contracted by Atlanta Fulton County Emergency Management to update its multi-jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan in accordance with the requirements of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000. The County is comprised of 15 municipal jurisdictions, including the major metropolitan area of Atlanta. CGA EMS team assisted the Hazard Mitigation Plan Committee in revising and updating the plans goals and objectives. Using these goals and objectives as the foundation, we then provided guidance to stakeholders in identifying priority mitigation issues in their respective communities based on the most significant threats, opportunities for promoting the principles of hazard mitigation through policy and regulatory mechanisms, venues for expanding public outreach and education, natural resource preservation through mitigation, and structural project measures.
