Calvin, Giordano & Associates' Planning department is currently working for the City of Hallandale Beach on amending the City and County Future Land Use Plans to create a Regional Activity Center (RAC) that covers the heart of the City from County line Road to Pembroke Road, including the US 1 and Dixie Highway corridors and the Mardi Gras Racing and Gaming complex, as well as the Northwest Section of the City all the way to I-95. The RAC allows the City to plan for major redevelopment of this area. Other RAC can be found in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, and in Miramar, Pompano Beach among others. CGA's GIS department is also working on an inventory of the existing development in this area so that Planning can perform an analysis of existing conditions and assess the future impacts that will result from the land use change.
