Established early in the history of the company, the Planning Division offers services to both public and private entities.
By definition, “Planning is the design of the built environment.” Our Planning Division looks at this process through a land development and regulatory perspective, enabling us to provide the highest quality services balanced by environmental, social, political, aesthetic and financial considerations.
To remain current, the Planning Division receives and reviews site plans for various municipalities to ensure that plans meet all municipal code requirements as well as attend city council and planning and zoning board meetings and serve on various development review committees.
Case Studies
Loxahatchee Groves, FL Comprehensive Plan
The Town of Loxahatchee Groves, incorporated in 2006, sought our services to create its first comprehensive plan for the town. The town incorporated to protect its rural, and agricultural location at the edge of urban development in Palm Beach County. The adopted comprehensive plan focuses on balancing agricultural uses with residential uses, supports equestrian trails and protects the overall rural lifestyle of the Groves while meeting all the state statutory requirements.
The City of Hallandale, FL Regional Activity Center (RAC)
The project involved amending the City of Hallandale’s and Broward County’s future land use plans to create a Regional Activity Center (RAC). The planning covered the center of Hallandale from Countyline Road to Pembroke Road (including US 1) to the Dixie Highway corridors and the Mardi Gras Racing and Gaming complex, as well as the northwest section of the city. The assignment also involves our GIS Division.
City of West Park, FL Transit-Oriented Corridor (TOC) Zoning
The Planning Division created a Transit-Oriented Corridor future land use amendment and zoning change to provide the City of West Park with a form-based code that provided a necessary mix of land uses, density and design that encouraged the creation of an environment to promote transit usage.
