The award-winning Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning Division, formed in 1996, is comprised of a well-integrated team of innovative designers and site planners, complemented by specialized professionals who provide environmental services to all aspects of a project. From concept to construction, complex challenges are resolved through integrated and multi-disciplined seamless processes are developed to suit each specific assignment. Our team also coordinates with other design consultants, such as the architects and structural and electrical engineers to ensure that varying components are melded into a cohesive and time efficient process.
Case Studies
The Shops at Pembroke Gardens
The Shops at Pembroke Gardens project consists of a 400,000 sq. ft. lifestyle center designed to promote a vibrant, dynamic and successful pedestrian retail environment. As part of our assignment, we assembled a multidisciplinary team to address the needs of the project, from plat processing, site design, rezoning the property into a Planned Commercial Development (PCD), creating the necessary design guidelines, developing the landscape themes and planting strategies and the design development for the project.
City of Weston, FL Library Park
In overseeing all aspects of the development of the park—from the conceptual design and site details to the bidding and construction—we ensured that Weston Library Park engaged the user within an outdoor environment that capitalizes on the public library as a neighbor. As a park that celebrates the works and lives of famous Florida authors, the park provides outdoor classroom space as a mechanism to bridge the school across the street and the literary resource next door. Meandering walks connect gazebos with stepped seating, while the infinity-edge fountain quiets out the vehicles driving by. Unifying the park is a narrative trail celebrating the history of Weston. We oversaw all aspects of the development of the park from the conceptual design and site details to the bidding and construction.
Cobblestone
Cobblestone is a two-phased project designed on the principles of traditional neighborhood developments. Great emphasis was placed on enhancing and encouraging pedestrian experiences through the location of shade trees and planting schemes that broke away from any monotony. While the buildings’ architectural expression were done as a series of repetitive typologies, the site and planting design developed by our landscape professionals created defined spaces, each articulated with a variation of texture that responded to either the intensity of the building’s use or its prominence within the hierarchal makeup of the overall neighborhood’s design.
